Its so good to have you here. I am Ameena.I am an architect and a botanical artist from Kerala ,India.
My encounter with art started as a more pragmatic path in architecture school and slowly developed into a more imaginative form after I delved into the magical world of watercolors in 2017 . The paper journal was started to document my progress and its now grown into the brand that’s it is today . I offer paper stationery and lifestyle products under the brand .
Painting is more than creating beautiful things
Over the years painting flowers has not only served as a creative outlet ,but also had a significant impact on my mental and physical wellbeing. What started off as journaling through the paper journal instagram page and simple everyday practice has resulted in something so beautiful that I cant quite put into words.
My love for exploring flowers of all kinds in inevitably portrayed in my work .That said i feel a deep connection with the flora I grew up seeing from the gods own country ,Kerala. It is from there that my deep rooted love for art and architecture comes from. Understanding a curve of the petals , the light falling on them , the minute yet spectacular details that nature showcases has become a huge part of my art. My mum always said its only through constant observation and practice that one can hone your skills. Something I strive for and incorporate in my creative process.
Little things about me

I have a little love affair with nostalgic old things be it vernacular architecture or a piece of old heirloom cloth . I love all things vintage.

I love road trips . The longer the better, because it gives me the opportunity to experience and feel different landscapes and open horizons..

I am a beach person ,as much i love the mountains and draw inspiration for my work from the hills . I grew up in a seaside town and the sea never ceases to broaden my imagination .
